The Role

MURRA Partners is currently recruiting for a Cultural Heritage Lead, a unique opportunity to
shape and manage Renewal SA’s approach to cultural heritage, building and maintaining a
strong framework to ensure best practice, engagement with community and adherence to the
Aboriginal Heritage Act.

With current projects across Kaurna Yerta, and new projects across the state of South Australia,
this role will be instrumental in building relationships with both the Kaurna community and other
Nations, as required.

● Identify, manage and lead strategy and resolution of complex operational and project
related cultural heritage management matters across Renewal SA portfolio of projects.
● Ensure Renewal SA is proactively managing cultural heritage and working collaboratively with local

First Nations communities as well as building and maintaining strong relationships with Traditional Owners and other relevant stakeholders across South Australia.
● Develop, implement, monitor and maintain a Cultural Heritage Management Framework to meet legislated and strategic needs of Renewal SA.
● Proactively seek opportunities to incorporate First Nations culture into planning, urban design, and project development initiatives.

About You

● Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Cultural Heritage Management or Environmental Management or recent relevant experience in managing cultural
heritage matters.
● Working knowledge of cultural heritage related legislation, including the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988 (SA) and cultural heritage management principles.
● Strong knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience in ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with First Nations People.

● Demonstrated, recent experience in a similar role.
● This role is for someone who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander OR someone who can demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role with a
connection to First Nations Communities.
