The Role

We are looking for a Reconciliation Manager to lead and execute Renewal SA’s reconciliation strategy and initiatives, including our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Working within the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team you will focus on embedding reconciliation and stakeholder engagement across the organisation to ensure we are collaborating effectively with local Aboriginal communities and maintaining strong relationships with Traditional Owners and stakeholders in South Australia.
Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Embedding reconciliation initiatives into business practices and projects, ensuring adherence to
    commitments.
  • Incorporating First Nations culture into planning, urban design and projects, and exploring partnerships for cultural heritage works.
    Developing, implementing, reporting and promoting Renewal SA’s RAP.
  • Managing the Reconciliation Committee to ensure organisation-wide engagement with reconciliation and RAP initiatives.
  • Developing partnerships with First Nations stakeholders and providing expert cultural advice to people across the business.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high level of understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and challenges experienced by First Nations peoples. You will also have demonstrated ability to engage key Aboriginal stakeholders in the work of Reconciliation Australia.

Ideally we are looking for:

● Experience working in a similar role with developing and implementing reconciliation and RAP initiatives
● Working knowledge of project work and project delivery
● Strong knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience in ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with First Nations People

This role is for someone who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander OR someone who can demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role with a
connection to First Nations Communities.
