General Manager, Operations
Location: Barngarla Country - Port Augusta, South Australia
About the Role: Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) RNTBC is looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager, Operations to oversee our diverse operational functions. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this full-time permanent role ensures effective leadership and management of operational activities, including stations management and heritage services, with a strong commitment to safety and staff development. This is a Port Augusta-based role with requirements to regularly travel to stations and mine sites on Kokatha country, from Roxby Downs/Woomera region and to KACs Adelaide office.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and People Management: Oversee effective management of operational functions, provide strategic direction to program managers, and lead the operations team to foster continuous improvement and high performance.

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and other organisations. Develop partnerships supporting business development and funding agreements.

Operational and Financial Management: Ensure alignment of operational activities with strategic priorities, monitor and improve processes, oversee budgets and financial performance, and provide regular performance reports.

Compliance: Operate as an effective member of the Executive Leadership Team, implementing risk management strategies and ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory standards.
About You:

Demonstrated leadership experience, including as part of an Executive Leadership Team, with a track record of achieving results.

Superior communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and build understanding of strategic priorities.

Proven experience in policy development, program management, and leading organisational change.

Extensive experience in operations management within non-government organisations, with understanding of pastoral land management, mining, and cultural heritage sectors.

Personal qualities of high motivation, discretion, and integrity.
Desirable:

Business Management qualifications.

Experience working with rural and remote communities, including Aboriginal people.
Licences & Clearances:

National police clearance (essential).

Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to remote locations.
