About Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation (AMYAC) 

AMYAC is a Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) nominated and established to represent AMYAC Members’ native title rights, resources, livability and Self Determination interests. AMYAC  are located in the Far North of South Australia with their head operating office located in Coober Pedy.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Office Manager to support the operation of AMYAC as a company and as a service to AMYAC community Members. This is an ongoing, permanent role. 

In this role, you will direct and oversee the day-to-day office management in a busy and fast-paced environment. You will focus on the business operations and the services and deliverables to Members.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Managing, supervising and training the administration team

  • Developing and implementing programs relating to Aboriginal engagement

  • Managing and contributing to the development of office policies, procedures,and strategy planning

  • Presenting detailed reporting to the AMYAC Board as a collective

  • Advising on the development and implementation of AMYAC policies and procedures

  • Fostering strong working relationships with AMYAC Members and the Board

  •  Establishing good relationships with the wider community, stakeholders, providers, service organisations and advisors i.e. legal, accounting advisors 

  • Reviewing and processing applications to the Trust, for example, Health and Medical, Serious Illness and Emergency, Carer’s Assistance,  Ngangkari Assistance

  • Ensuring applications are consistent with Trust policies and budget

  • Additional duties as required to help gain prosperity and sustainability of AMYAC  as business as well as the AMYAC Members’ liveability as a regional community


About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a proven track record in office administration governance, including strong organisation and structured reporting skills. We are also looking for a high level of understanding and awareness of AMYAC, their journey, the Members, and their mission. You will be a high performer who has exceptional communication skills and experience with managing all levels of stakeholders.

Ideally we are looking for:

  • Extensive working in a similar role with managing a fast paced office environment

  • Ability to multitask supervising a team whilst carrying out higher-level tasks

  • Exceptional service standards whilst being culturally minded and respectful at all times

  • Strong understanding and passion for Aboriginal Self-Determination

  • Awareness and demonstrated experience in ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal People

For this role you will need to have:

  • A current Police Check 

  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • Current Drivers’ License 

This role is for someone who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, an AMYAC Member, OR someone who can demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role with a connection to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Communities.
